10 Young Living Oils under $25

Interested in essential oils, but don't want to break the bank? Below I have compiled 10 great oils that all retail for under $25, as well as a few facts about each oil. Please note that all information given here is from the Essential Oils desk reference 7th Edition. Its is basically the bible of oils! I personally reference it daily and highly recommend it if you want to know more about essential oils. You can get your own copy below!






1.) ORANGE

  • Commonly used to combat symptoms of:

-hypertension

-fluid retention

-insomnia

-complexion issues ( wrinkles)

  • Aromatic benefits:

-uplifting/ antidepressant qualities

-immunity boosting

-promotes relaxation

-clean fresh scent


  • Fun fact: contains high levels of limonene which is known to combat tumour growth!

+ I personally use it in my homemade carpet powder, and I diffuse it almost daily for its clean scent and uplifting properties. A couple drops in a bottle of ice water is delicious too!


**Please note that citrus oils can be sun sensitive when used topically.**


2.) CEDARWOOD

  • Commonly used to combat symptoms of :

- hair loss

-acne/eczema

-ADHD

  • Aromatic benefits:

-calming

-stimulates melatonin release

-stimulates limbic region of brain

-purifying


  • Fun fact: the Egyptians used it for embalming!

+ I personally use it topically to reduce facial blemishes, as well as on dry cracked skin on our feet. I have been applying it to my husband's scalp to combat hair loss as well. I also love to diffuse it at bedtime for its calming properties.

3.) GINGER

  • Commonly used to combat symptoms of:

-nausea

-digestive disorders

-respiratory infections

-muscular aches/pains


  • Aromatic benefits:

-gentle scent

-stimulating

-energizing


  • Fun fact: It is also known for its anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal properties!


4.) LEMONGRASS

  • Commonly used to combat symptoms of:

-hypertension

-inflammation

-fever

-bladder infection

-sinus infection

-varicose veins

  • Aromatic benefits:

-purification -light, fresh citrus aroma with earthy undertones

-refreshing, stimulating


  • Fun Fact: It inhibits MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) growth according to a 2008 study (Chao S, et al., 2008)


5.) NUTMEG

  • Commonly used to combat symptoms of:

- stomach ulcers

- nerve pain

-fatigue

-arthritis

  • Aromatic benefits:

-warm, spicy aroma

-energizing & uplifting


  • Fun fact: It is a liver and stomach protectant!


6.) LEMON

  • Commonly used to combat symptoms of:

-acne & wrinkles

-circulatory problems

-urinary tract infections

-anxiety


  • Aromatic benefits:

-induces relaxation

-reduces symptoms of depression

-boosts immunity

  • Fun fact: Like orange oil, it is high in limonene which is known for its ability to combat tumour growth

+ I personally use lemon oil in my homemade laundry stain remover, and carpet powder. It has a lovely, clean, fresh scent when diffused as well.



7.) JADE LEMON

  • Same major constituents as lemon but with different percentages.

  • used to uplift and stimulate mind and body

  • used in household cleaning

  • mix with citronella oil to make a pleasant smelling insect repellent







8.) LIME

  • Commonly used to support:

-skin care

-respiratory system

-immune system

-weight loss

-insect bites


  • Aromatic benefits:

-invigorating citrus aroma

-air freshener



9.) SPEARMINT

  • Commonly used to combat symptoms of:

-headaches

-fatigue

-nervous disorders

-digestive problems


  • Aromatic benefits:

-promotes a feeling of balance

-opens and releases emotional blocks -minty, slightly fruity scent

-softer than peppermint


  • Fun fact: it is known to increase metabolism!


10.) EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS

  • Commonly used to combat symptoms of

-arthritis

-respiratory/sinus infections

-sore muscles

  • Aromatic benefits:

-purification

-promotes feelings of well-being and healing


  • Fun fact: it contains a high percentage of eucalyptol which is a major ingredient in antiseptic mouthwashes. It is also a great insect repellent!
